Red Organic Trio – a groovy organ trio

The youngest constellation on the St.Petersburg jazz horizon, Red Organic Trio proves that the possibilities of an organ trio, poorly studied in our country, are practically inexhaustible. Within months, the band has managed to convincingly demonstrate their high class, which shows both in their first recordings and their club gigs. It was also evident in their set at the main jazz festival of the city - "Petrojazz 2016".

When the distinguished guitarist Alexey Stankov decided to move further away from Gypsy swing – a style he’s been firmly rooted in for the last 12 years with his band Swing Couture - toward funk and groove-jazz in the mould of Wes Montgomery and Jimmy Smith, it was only natural to invite Dmitry Silkin join the new band. This master of the two manuals squeezes the juiciest sounds from his Hammond Organ, the King of all electronic organs, whose warm, moody sound has been a keystone of jazz, blues and rock from the 1960s. The band’s lineup was complete when Stepan Vasilyev joined Red Organic Trio. His groove is familiar to the public from the electrical project of Andrei Kondakov, "Evgenia Zima Band”, and the abovementioned Swing Couture.

Played by just three pairs of hands, the music of Red Organic Trio flows like a deep river, where different courses rage in a single stream. And don’t be scared to drown in this rip tide – just catch at the syncopated guitar riffs and drift with the organ waves.

There are only five tracks yet in the trio’s catalog, but once you get to hear them, it is clear that “Funky Morning” is sure to make your morning good, and with “Big City Blues” the city will put all its lights on!
