Domino Quartet are professional musicians from St. Petersburg, playing acoustic music from ‘30s-‘50s.

Famous smash hits in French, Russian and Italian make a perfect match with Domino’s own romantic songs. By playing acoustic Domino Quartet bring our favorite love songs to life, which makes it easy to believe that real live music is truly timeless.

All these old smash hits in different languages feel like retouched black and white photos. Having the ability to professionally turn music into magic Domino gives it a burst of modern-day colors.

“Domino Quartet is one of those St. Petersburg bands that are strikingly “real”.

All these old smash hits in different languages feel like retouched black and white photos. Having the ability to professionally turn music into magic Domino gives it a burst of modern-day colors.

Credits for creating the band go to Egor Zakharov, Vladimir Uspensky, Andrey Voevodsky and Alexey Ozolin – all professional musicians from St. Petersburg whom we’ve seen in other bands and ensembles.

Every single member of this band is full of skill, creativity and drive; the way they treat the music and arrangements is very delicate and involves the audience from the very first notes. Their double bass, accordion, guitar and Egor’s heartwarming tenor fill the gloomy Petersburg nights with sunlight and create a cheerful atmosphere of Naples coast and the romantic vibe of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and Montmartre.

In other words, you have to listen to Domino Quartet at least once, and you won’t be able to stop.”

Now a little bit about the Quartet members:

  • Egor Zakharov (vocals): graduated from The Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory with a degree in opera singing, which doesn’t stop him from trying different styles: ironic chanson, lyrical music and city romance. Egor has written quite a few songs for the band. His song “Viuga” (Snowstorm) has made its way to Grigory Leps’ top 10 songs.
  • Andrey Voevodsky (double bass): plays the music of the first half of the XX century like a pro. He is excellent at playing bass instruments: the tuba, double bass and washtub bass (his talents also include singing, playing viola and banjo). Andrey makes some of the ragtime instruments himself, like washtub bass and kazoo. He is also a keen cyclist who can ride 250 km in 24 hours. Sometimes he cycles around the city with a double bass behind his back.
  • Sergey Nikitin (guitar): ”Virtuozi Gitari” contest winner, Django Reinhardt follower, arranger, composer, school teacher and masseur. Sergey has taken part in various music projects, where he played anything from gipsy jazz to Brazilian music. His hobbies include table tennis, frisbee and karate.
  • Alexey Ozolin (button accordion): the youngest band member who breaks ladies’ hearts with his magnificent skills.
